CONTRACT POSITION

SpaceIQ is leading the digital transformation of the workplace with our cloud-based platform that turns facilities from cost centers into strategic business assets. SpaceIQ brings management tools and insights to help companies execute data-driven real estate decisions, increase operational excellence, and enhance employee experience.

SCOPE OF WORK:

SpaceIQ is looking for a Contract Technical Writer to push the envelope in how we teach our internal and external customers about the SpaceIQ platform. This person should clearly understand the objectives of SpaceIQ, our users, and must develop simple, easy-to-understand, user friendly product, technical, and educational content. The content should be informative and engaging and should enable readers to get their information promptly and efficiently.

In addition to creating the final content, the Technical Writer will focus on maintaining a consistent instructional design process across content products. They are expected to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to create content that supports business initiatives.

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Drives the product content and documentation platform for enterprise SaaS platform and supporting mobile applications
  • Create, develop, and edit content for various activities related to informing and educating internal and external constituents
  • Manage the content needs for specific products and services and ensure all deliverables are on time throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Develop original content for online help, release content, training tutorials and videos, product knowledge base, and API documentation based on the requirements outlined by the various stakeholders
  • Edit and proofread all content prior to posting
  • Document product functionality, troubleshooting, and best practices through research, cross-functional teamwork and hands-on product testing
  • Use appropriate content format and delivery methods to best educate external and internal customers – written documentation, eLearning modules, user guides, etc
  • Monitor customer feedback, product goals, and pain points to continually improve content
  • Be a champion for change; always pushing iterative improvement
  • Design online, instructor-led, and blended training materials for individual courses and comprehensive curricula; includes writing agendas, objectives, video scripting, activities, and assessments
  • Copy/edit existing training material when needed and adapt instructional materials for various formats

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • BA degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience writing software documentation for B2B web and mobile applications
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with SaaS
  • Experience documenting web services preferred
  • Experience working closely with engineering, product management, and customer success teams as part of the software development process
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
  • Experience with content management systems and/or online help tools
  • Experience with HTML, desktop publishing and video editing software
  • Must be able to provide writing samples and other media development

  • Ability to multitask, collaborate, project manage documentation effort, and adhere to internal processes and standards for quality and style
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience writing content for several communications and training methods, mediums, and for varied audiences. Must be able to create coherent, concise documents from large volumes of technical information, and have strong editorial skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail as well as exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to form strong relationships with all levels of corporate and field organizations
  • Flexible and able to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, and time-critical environment
